La Arboretum

This new life in Quarantine has been taking a toll on my mental health as well as my physical health… So, when my cousin texted asking if I wanted to hit up the arboretum I jumped at the chance! I had never been to this particular arboretum before and knew this would be a great opportunity to test out my “new” Canon ae-1! Funny story behind, I accidentally ruined the first roll of film because I didn’t load it properly. RIP Kodak Color Plus :(

First shot of the day is a burner

The rest of the shots were me testing out the camera worrying about them not coming out. Oh, the joys of shooting film again lmao. To my surprise, the photos came out better than I thought!

While we walked around the arboretum, we ran across this small pond, and there were some ducks swimmin’ around, AND THEN A BUNCH OF TURTLES CAME OUT OF NOWHERE 😃

This red and white building called “Queen Anne Cottage” which arguably was my favorite part of the day. The colors reminded me of Carnation Cafe at Disneyland (which I miss DEARLY)

To end our day we searched for this ‘coveted’ waterfall that we had been searching for from the get-go. It was hot, we were dying in our masks and all the walking we did (roughly 5 miles) but we weren’t going to give up just yet!

After a treacherous trek up these stairs, we FINALLY made it to the waterfall!

Excited was an understatement!! The waterfalls were a bit disappointing but the view up top wasn’t. After all, was said and done, we had a blast walking around and I came away with some great photos

These were all shot on a Canon ae-1 with Superia Xtra 400
